McFadyen Consulting, eBusiness Solution & Services Leader, Sponsors eBiz Battle 2001 for Virginia High School Students
McFadyen Consulting, Renowned eBusiness Innovator, Paves the Way for Today's High School Students to Become Tomorrow's High-Tech Stars

McFadyen Consulting has announced a winner in eBiz Battle 2001. The eBiz Battle 2001 began in April with over two dozen competitors from Virginia high schools, including individuals and teams of up to three students, who submitted business ideas for evaluation. From this group of participants, three finalists were chosen to take part in a summer education program in which the students developed their eBusiness product ideas into business plans and prototypes. eBiz Battle 2001 culminated on August 21, 2001 with a presentation of plans and prototypes by the finalists before a select judging panel. The winning participant was awarded with a college scholarship and the possibility of venture capital support to further develop their proposal.

The program has garnered attention from local business leaders and politicians. Delegate Vincent F. Callahan Jr., R-Fairfax, co-chair of the Appropriations Committee, and a long time political proponent for education, said, "These young entrepreneurs are being afforded a remarkable opportunity to experience real-world business development. Corporate-backed programs such as this help the region in its continued efforts in establishing Virginia as a leader in information technology."

"As an organization with deep roots in the development and implementation of eLearning solutions, McFadyen Consulting is always looking for ways to better understand and contribute to the learning process." Explained Tom McFadyen, President, McFadyen Consulting. "We were impressed with the ingenious the ideas and the level of initiative demonstrated by each and every student who participated in eBiz Battle 2001. We applaud the members of the Virginia high tech business community who chose support this event."
